Liar Liar!!!

Image
Last night I watched a Hollywood movie, “liar liar” in the TV channel Romedy Now. The movie is about a hotshot lawyer who loses his power of lying because his 5 year old son makes a wish on his birthday that “there was one full day where his dad could never tell a lie”. His day becomes miserable due to the fact he cannot lie. He even loses his job!!But in the end he realizes that the truth actually has set him free and feels the need to start a fresh lie without lying about anything. It is an old movie, and I have watched a couple of times. Being a Jim carry fan I find it fun to watch over again. A thought hit me while watching the movie. Why do we humans lie? Why can’t we just say the truth all the time? Why is it so difficult to tell facts to everyone? On an average day I am sure a person comes up with at least 5 lies. It starts with a simple one as “The traffic was horrible, and that is why I could not make it on time”; and the next one is, you pick up the phone and say “I am ...

Moments!!!!

Image
One moment here! One moment there! Moments everywhere! Every moment together makes life. If life on earth can be measured by the time we spend here then time can be measured by the moments of life. The quality of time is nothing but what actually happens in the time. Sometimes even when you are alone, it is a ‘solitary moment’ for you. So the existence of time is nothing but the moment that prevails. There is no permanent feel we have or an emotion that we hold for long. We have our moments of happiness, sadness, anger, anxiety and similar other feelings. These moments do not exist for a long time, yet play a beautiful part in our life. It is in those moments that we truly live . We love, we cry, we hate, we decide, we relax, we expect, we give, we care, we fight. Those moments when a father holds his just born baby! The moment you propose to your loved one! The moment when you have to say goodbye to your friends in college! The moment when you see your favorite ice cre...

Learning to Appreciate :)

Image
“Wow! You did a great job”; “Superb, cool work”; “Thank you, it was very helpful”. How often do we hear all these sentences? May be once in a complete day, or sometimes not even that. We neither get appreciation, nor we appreciate others, in fact we don’t even hear others appreciating others. As an individual, I honestly accept that I have also not done my part of appreciating people in my life. But trust me appreciating someone is a virtue. It brings about amazing change in everyday life. Let me give you a real life example for how much ‘appreciating’ helps in bringing up a child. I know two kids (boys) who are around two years old now. One of them is brought up in family environment where his mother stays with him all the time. He spends his evenings with his aunties, uncles and grandparents. He also goes to a play school for two hours in the morning where he spends time with his peer group. The boy receives constant appreciation for whatever little job he does. Every fir...

Bring out the CHILD in YOU.

Image
This blog is dedicated to my lovely little nephew R B Ankit Kumar. He is 15 months old and he was the reason behind me coming up with this post. To get an idea of how he looks and what all he does; I have added a collage picture of him. OK, here comes the question. How many of us have paused our busy lifestyle to just think over about how we lost the child within us? I am pretty sure that we all enjoyed being a baby rather than now! Honestly I have started pondering a lot about it after spending time with this little darling (We all fondly call him Anku) J Spending time with him is really a ‘stress buster’. I completely forget about everything when he is around. He teaches me life lessons everyday; I must call him the ‘little guru’. Well, of course he is not aware that he is teaching me something. He is just being himself and that is what inspires me! First thing, he is always happy and smiling J He does not need a reason to smile, he just smiles. How oft...

Count your Blessings :)

Imagine that, while you were in your shower, soap went into your eyes! The next second you close your eyes, and then you try to wash your eyes with water. You would have remained in dark for the next few seconds, reaching your hands out just hoping that you would hit the shower knob or a mug of water. Well, if you had your luck with you, then your eyes would be fine in a few min, or sometimes it takes longer to become perfect.           Now, imagine how life could be if you had to deal with everything, just the way you did in those few minutes you lost sight. Sounds difficult right? That’s how the visually challenged people live all over the world. I wonder what a blind person would answer if I asked him/her what colors are? I assume they would have a definition for it, but that was no way going to be somewhere equivalent to what we know about colors. How do they see life? How do they know what comes right in front of their eye? How do ...

I Wish I was Like the Wind

I wish I was like the wind Sometimes soft and breezy Sometime wild and gusty I envy how high you could fly Without even a little sigh You could touch every cloud Without a single doubt Without you life is indispensable But lucky that you are still invisible You touch everybody’s heart Yet you can never be caught You would never take a pause You are never impasse You are born with no color But still possess an array of odor I wonder how lucky you are To live not worrying about whom you are.:)

Developments at what cost?

Where are we heading towards? What are we doing to our planet?Development at the cost of our nature? Is this what we should be doing? Urbanization, rapid pace of industrialization, technological boom, economic growth, mass transportation etc. is all that we have earned through destroying our mother earth. Gone are those days when we could hear the sparrows chirping early in the morning, now we have conveniently added to the list of endangered species. What an achievement! Rumors are agog predicting the end of the world; which is often referred to as the "Dooms Day" debate. According to reliable sources many philosophers and scientist say that the world would come to an end by 2012. At this rate of advancement, regardless of what philosophers have told we humans would disintegrate the globe ourselves. We have killed so many trees and converted forests into concrete jungles and sprawling complexes, but now when we look back on our evolution all I can see is self-destruction. D...
